This is the second release of the German language Module for
Pegasus Mail for Windows v4.01
Die Datei LIESMICH.TXT enthaelt die deutsche Version dieser Datei.

*** Please Note: ***
 - This language module was developed for Pegasus Mail for Windows
   version v4.01. You *MUST NOT* use this language module with any other
   program version!
 - Pegasus Mail for Windows v4.01 has to be installed before the german
   language module can be installed.

Please also read the "Known problems" section found below in this
file.

If you use Pegasus Mail in Netware mode, please read the file
novellde.txt which can be found in your Pegasus Mail program
directory after installation.


Installation using the installation program (de32-401.exe)
----------------------------------------------------------

The installation programm automatically detects the path of your
Pegasus Mail installation and will copy all necessary files and
subdirectories into that directory. When the installation is complete,
Pegasus Mail will be started with the German user interface. To switch
back to the English interface, either delete the file "pegasus.ini" in
your Pegasus Mail program directory or deactivate the line
"Set Language=DE" by changing the line to a comment.


Installation "by hand" (de32-401.zip)
-------------------------------------

The zip-archive contains all the necessary files with all
subdirectories. Unpack the archive (using Winzip, WinRAR or any other
unpacking tool) into the Pegasus Mail programm directory (it's the
directory where you can find the WINPM-32.EXE file).

*** IMPORTANT *** Make sure to enable "include subdirectories" or similar
option when unpacking the archive.

To activate the German language module, run Pegasus Mail for Windows
with the commandline switch "-X DE". for example:

  c:\Programme\WinPMail\winpm-32.exe -X DE


Instructions for use
--------------------

* Many new "flat" buttons in the new windows (e.g. preview-mode,
  message reader, etc.) can be accessed by shortcuts. The underlined
  letter in the button text will tell you the shortcut. For technical
  reasons, there are some buttons (e.g. The Attachment and Annotations
  tabs in the message reader window) where no underlined letter is
  available. Shortcuts will work WITHOUT pressing the <Alt>-key, which
  means simply press the underlined key on your keyboard.

* Please read the sections "Was ist neu in dieser Version" and
  "Hinweise und Tipps zur Version v4" in the online help in order
  to get an overview of the latest features in Pegasus mail v4.

* On first use of some program parts (e.g. the message reader) Pegasus
  Mail offers a tutorial. We advise the user to read those tutorials
  because they contain lots of helpful information which will make it
  easier for you to use the new features.

* In almost every window of Pegasus Mail you can call the online help
  in german language by pressing the F1-key or clicking on the Help
  button.

Known problems
--------------

* The following windows contain some untranslatable resources:
   - Column heading in message overview in preview mode
   - Column heading in Addressbook window (Description, Type, Key, etc.)
   - Column heading in addressbook selection window (Description, Type)
   - Column heading in Distribution List window (List name, File name)
   - Column heading in Digest reader (From, Subject, etc.)
   - Some messages in the System window ("loading local legacy cache..")
  These will be fixed in Pegasus Mail v4.02.

* In preview mode in the context menu the options "Reformat new
  lines" ("Zeilen neu formatieren") and "wrap long lines" ("Lange
  Zeilen umbrechen") will not be saved when using Netware mode.


* If you would like to use the "Hangup32" extension, found in
  "Extras->Internet Einstellungen->Einwahl", you can enable it by
  manually copying the file "hangup32" (or "hangup32.fff" if
  "hangup32" does not exist) in the Pegasus Mail installation
  directory to the file "hangup32.fde".  To disable the extension,
  delete the file "hangup32.fde".

* In order to work-around an internal Pegasus Mail problem, the original
  English help file will be overwritten by the German installer. If you
  need the English help file you may install the original Pegasus Mail
  software again.


Please do not send e-mails to the translator concerning general
questions about the program. The translation is done during sparetime -
including lots of hours during nights. In case there are problems only
in the German version, please send us a *detailed* description of the
problem and the program environment to the address found at the bottom 
of this file.
